This company deserves a ZERO for customer service.10 months on and still having issues. A twenty two year old male Kuwaiti native, studying in Ireland, presented to the emergency department having been found by friends on the floor of his home with lower limb weakness and confusion. His background was significant for a sleeve gastrectomy two months previously in Kuwait, a one week history of minimal oral intake, and BMI of 46. Initial examination revealed a tender abdomen and he was initially treated with broad spectrum antibiotics for presumed intra-abdominal infection.
Possible decreased power in the lower limbs was noted but difficult to assess as the patient was poorly cooperative with examination. Radiological investigations revealed no abnormality however, and his clinical condition deteriorated over the course of the day. He was not oriented to person, time or place and speech was nonsensical. Lumbar puncture showed elevated protein, normal white cells and glucose; and he was treated empirically for viral encephalitis with acyclovir. Over two days, his GCS progressively declined necessitating transfer to ICU for intubation and sedation.
On examination, he had total ophthalamoplegia and decreased tone in all four limbs. A presumptive diagnosis of acute Wernicke's encephalopathy was reached which was supported by typical MRI finding findings of diffusion restriction in medial thalami, mammillary bodies and brainstem. His GCS is 13/15, he follows one stage commands, asks simple questions, has regained purposeful eye movements, has normal upper limb movement but flaccid paraplegia of the lower limbs. Thiamine deficiency is a rare but recognised complication of bariatric surgery arising from both reduced oral intake and malabsorption. Incidence and pathophysiology vary depending on the type of surgery.
This case emphasises the importance of post-operative follow up in this cohort of patients and highlights that Wernicke's encephalopathy occurs in settings other than alcohol dependence. Placed an order day after thanksgiving for a dresser, two night stands and a tall 5 drawer stand. The expected date was originally in late December which changed to January which changed to February. Last week they delivered the tall 5 drawer one night stand and dresser. The dresser has a crack in the wood and the knight stand base is messed up. My wife has continually called and the customer service says things are missing or they cannot contact drivers.
This morning items were supposed to be replaced and my last night stand to be delivered; we had a time frame and everything confirmed but online it was cancelled and the rep Michelle from customer service is of no help. They've had my money for almost 90 days and haven't delivered on their end. I have had other furniture custom made from Ethan Allen I ordered on December 18th and all of that furniture was delivered within 4 weeks, custom made and perfect. I have ordered items from West Elm in the past, but this is the first time I have flat out been told that they have no idea when I will get my furniture.
We are resorting to emailing the warehouse directly because customer service has run out of answers for us. They said that talking to the distributors directly is the only thing we can do at this point. Latest date for delivery was supposed to be June 27th and I am writing this review on July 9th. They cannot tell through the order number or the delivery number if our items are even finished being made. Also, all the reviews about this staff being snotty and ignoring customers (you're a chain West Elm, get past yourselves) are true.
Never experienced that in the West Hollywood location - only in Palm Springs. Don't know if the PS location is directly responsible for unfulfilled orders or if it's the warehouse. The representative mentioned that they no longer support this product. We corrected her stating that yes you do display that product on your website.
On mentioning this the rep corrected herself and re-ordered the items once again. Today when I checked the delivery date has again been postponed by another month and once again no one called to inform us beforehand on any further delay. West Elm is supposed to be a premium brand furniture store and they do charge a premium price for their items. However when it comes to customer service experience there is a lot lacking on that front.
The irony is that they have deducted the item amount fully few months back. I am really upset and thought would leave this review so that others are aware of this. Do not buy expensive items from West Elm - their furniture delivery company is dodgy to say the least. I ordered a rug, not exactly a cheap item, which was never delivered to us. It took us two months of phone calls to the customer service and they never gave us an explanation as to why the rug was not delivered.
We placed a refund request nearly 1 month ago and we still haven't received the refund despite the fact that the refund policy states refunds will be made within 14 days. Rivaroxaban is a Novel Oral Anticoagulant used in prevention of stroke and emboli in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and treatment of DVT and PE. Clinical monitoring is recommended for the duration of therapy, especially in renally impaired patients, due to the risk of haemorrhage. The aim of this audit was to investigate compliance with Rivaroxaban safety recommendations. This includes a follow-up appointment in the outpatient clinic of the prescribing practitioner to monitor the risk of haemorrhage and a blood test by the patients' primary care physician to check renal function.
Patients were contacted directly via their provided contact phone number and asked a series of questions to assess their experience with Rivaroxaban. The population for this audit were patients who were prescribed the drug in the outpatient setting. Twenty four patients taking Rivaroxaban were recruited for the study, however nine of these were excluded. 87% of patients included in the study were still taking Rivaroxaban at the time of the study. 100% of those report full compliance, 62% had their renal function checked by their primary care physician after starting the medication and 38% had a return consultation in the outpatient clinic. 13% of the participants were no longer taking the drug due to the side effects, half due to bleeding and half due to a rash.
Only one of the participants experienced bleeding while on Rivaroxaban and was subsequently switched to Warfarin. In order to improve the percentage of patients who are seen in clinic after commencing Rivaroxiban I recommend a mandatory followup appointment in the outpatient department or anticoagulation clinic. This would give the prescribing physician the opportunity to review the patient and any side effects or compliance issues they may have. Absolute FAIL. Beware, WestElm will not deliver product on time and will mislead you.
I then log online or call and find out the item is suddenly and mysteriously back ordered for 3 weeks. Except I was never told, and I was never going to be told. The typical attitude where they make you feel they're doing you a favor and refuse to offer any solution or discounts. Unprofessional, unfortunate, poor performance and customer service.
They are having an one day sale and I didn't want to pay shipping so I called the store to check on a couple of items, then call back for more. When I called back the second time and got someone else, that person had serious attitude issues. I really don't understand why someone who is obviously not into customer service would be in retail. If I had know how bad WE is, I would have never bought a single thing here.
I had a reward credit for $300 with the WE credit card and I decided to purchase something in the store in July that only needed $200. The store associate told me that I could use th the $300 reward and the remainder would be sent to me as a different reward certificate. I called in the bank behind their credit card and the WE customer service multiple times. They ended up telling me it's one time use, which by the way was not clearly said anywhere when we opened the card in the store. They both just kept saying it's not their issue and kept transferring me back and forth for the whole time.
My custom order leather sofa came in with multiple oil stains after waiting for 3 months. There are traces that they tried to rub and fix the oil dot but did no bother to use a different piece of leather. I can't believe I spent so much with them and got treated like this. Some items may require assembly, please refer to the online product page for details. I walked in here the other day looking for a comfortable couch. When buying a couch I usually try to picture myself looking good on the couch in a satin bathrobe while sipping a cocktail - but nothing in this store could I see myself looking good on or near in such a situation. So underwhelming the whole store - especially after having come from EQ3 which is nothing less than breathtaking. This place looks like a cluttered craft store with some couches hiding underneath piles of pillows and junk.
This place is the exact opposite of the hawks at Lazyboy who try to hunt you down and cram a clunky recliner down your throat. The people here are totally indifferent to a customers presence. If you like made in America furniture go to EQ3 just across the street. Not made in USA but better build quality than Restoration Hardware and a lower price . Other West Elm locations, the staff are usually rude and no where to be found but this location is the opposite. If you're going to go to a West Elm store, go to this one, it'll be worth it.
Especially if you are having issues with your order , if you come in, the staff here go above and beyond to try and help you. I rarely give a retail store a review, but this place deserves it. I felt bad for them though cause they were trying to help me on a cancelled order I didn't get refunded for and the internal service agent kept on purposely hanging up on them multiple times when asking billing questions!
I couldn't believe their own company would do that to their own employees. Luckily, they called the 'public' customer service line and they were helpful. I think the internal assistance line should be more respectful to its fellow employees as they are also dealing with customers. Either way, thanks to the in-store staff for being patient, friendly and helpful.
We ordered some barstools that were falsely advertised as being delivered August 12. Once I made my purchase they told me they would be delivered November 19 instead. I called immediately to cancel and their customer service was not open during the advertised hours. 12 days later they called me and told me the order could not be cancelled.
Second, they falsely advertised their customer service hours. Thirdly, they are attempting to charge me for the order after they confirmed the cancellation. But when it comes to municipalities as distributors of electricity, further considerations would come into play. Terminating the supply of electricity to an entire municipality in the circumstances provided for in s 21 would be a radical step.
Such reduction or termination of the supply of electricity would adversely affect every consumer within the affected municipality. Indeed, it would have the effect of collapsing the entire municipality, rendering it unable to fulfil its constitutional and statutory mandate to provide basic services. The objects of local government spelt out in s 152 of the Constitution would be subverted. Nor would such a municipality be able to provide services in respect of water, sanitation and electricity in terms of s 9 of the Housing Act as these services rely on electricity for their functionality. A 74 year old male presented to the emergency department with a one day history of dyspnoea, a hoarse voice and a four month history of right 3x3 cm midline neck lump.
His vitals were stable on arrival and auscultation of the lung fields revealed stridor and wheeze. A right vocal cord palsy was discovered on nasal endoscope examination. Work up included CT, PET CT, FNAs, open biopsy and panendoscopy. Eventually the final diagnosis was discovered; invasive poorly differentiated thyroid follicular cancer infiltrating the thyroid, larynx, trachea and soft tissue.
The patient was deemed suitable for surgical intervention, and he favoured this option over radiotherapy. Laryngopharyngectomy and thyroidectomy with stoma formation was performed just over one month after his first presentation. He progressed well post op with full multi disciplinary team input.
A tracheostomy tube placed intra-operatively was removed day 2 post surgery. On day 10 post op assessment via a oral niapan swallow test concluded that it was safe to allow oral intake. Currently he is not keen to have radiotherapy but it is still being discussed.
A 42 year old man with a history of intravenous opiate abuse was brought by ambulance to the Emergency Department with peritonitis following a shooting. On arrival, the patient was alert and self-ventilating with BP 103/74, pulse 96, respiratory rate 18 and Sp02 98%. He had a midline bullet entry wound in the epigastrium 2cm below the xiphisternum, with a corresponding exit wound in the right lumbar region.
He also had two superficial bullet wounds in the right shoulder and right forearm. His abdomen was distended, with features of peritonitis present. Following fluid resuscitation, antibiotic administration and crossmatching of blood, computed tomography revealed significant pneumoperitoneum with intraperitoneal free fluid and a complex duodenal injury.
